Q. Coach, you played against KBFC two days back and are now in Hyderabad. How are you preparing the squad considering the quick succession of games?
A. This is the situation and we must adapt to it without making excuses. We must find the best way to prepare the team for the game against HFC. The team is ready but honestly, we are tired after the last game. Three games in seven days with an away game in the middle is not easy.
Q. A win against KBFC especially coming back from a goal down, how much of a confidence booster is that for you and the squad coming into this game?
A. It was a good result against a team like KBFC. We are in a good position in the league table. The players are doing an amazing job, but this is the past and will not affect the future. Football is about the present, and that is today's game. It's not about what we did; it's about what we need to do to win the game tonight.
Q. How important is the game against Hyderabad FC for Odisha FC?
A. Every game is important including the one against HFC. If we think tonight's game will be easy because Hyderabad is in a difficult situation, it will be a big mistake. I think if we do not give our 100%, we are not going to win the game. HFC did an amazing job in the last few seasons, but they are doing an amazing job now because in difficult moments, the people who are there are working very hard and are trying to do their best.
Hitesh Sharma
Q. You are going to face your former club. What is going through your mind right now?
A. I just need to prepare and be in the present moment to prepare well for the game. As usual, I go into training sessions with a mindset to improve. Other things are not in my hand, what is in my hand is to train well, and that's what my focus is on.
