Odisha FC managed to get the better of Chennaiyin FC in its first pre-season friendly game against a Hero ISL side at Utorda today. Javi Hernandez and Victor Mongil were the two goal scorers for the Bhubaneswar-based team. 

Lukasz Gikiewicz converted a penalty in the initial passage of the match to give Chennaiyin a lead. However, Javi equalized in the second half through his header and Victor scored the second goal soon after that to ensure a win for the Juggernauts.

Prior to this match, Odisha FC had played four friendly games against Salgaocar FC, Dempo SC, Churchill Brothers, and FC Goa (Reserves) ahead of the upcoming eighth season of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL).
