Match Report: OFC vs NEUFC | HSC SF

In a thrilling encounter at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, Odisha FC secured a thumping 3-1 victory over Northeast United FC to advance to the final of the Hero Super Cup.


The victory was powered by a brace from Nandha and a clinical strike from Diego, who ensured that Odisha FC maintained their dominance throughout the game.
 


From the opening whistle, NEUFC appeared determined to take control of the game, and it did not take them long to make their intentions clear. Wilmar opened the scoring for the Highlanders in the 2nd minute with a tap-in from a cross.
 


Despite being a goal down, Odisha did not give up and continued to press forward. Their efforts were finally rewarded in the 10th minute when Nandha found the back of the net courtesy of a brilliant cross from Jerry down the right.
 


Come 63rd minuted Nandha burst down the left with Victor arriving in the box. Beautiful one touch football from both of them which led Nandha finding the back of the net giving OFC its second of the night.
 


Odisha FC continued to dominate possession and looked dangerous on the counter-attack. NEUFC were unable to contain Diego who put the ball behind the keeper's reach with a venomous strike from a tight angle in the 85th minute. The game was well beyond Highlander's reach post the third goal.
 


The victory was a testament to the hard work and determination of Head Coach Clifford Miranda and the entire team, who have been in excellent form throughout the tournament. With Nandha and Diego in fine form, and the rest of the team firing on all cylinders, they will be a tough team to beat in the final.
 


As they prepare to take on Bengaluru FC in the final, they will be full of confidence, knowing that they have what it takes to win the Hero Super Cup.
