Odisha FC Aim to Maintain Winning Momentum Against Kickstart FC in the IWL

Odisha FC Women will look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Bengaluru to face Kickstart FC in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2024-25 on February 7th, 2025, Friday, at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, with the match kicking off at 9:00 AM IST.

OFCW come into this match in strong form, having secured two consecutive wins. They are heading into this fixture with a positive mindset and high confidence. The defending champions are currently sitting in 3rd place in the league with 10 points.

Kickstart FC, on the other hand, have had a shaky start to their season. They are still winless and are placed in 7th position with just 2 points.

Ahead of the match, Odisha FC held a pre-match press conference with Head Coach Crispin Chettri and player Arifa Zaheer.

When asked about the upcoming fixture against Kickstart FC, Coach Chettri emphasized: “This is an important match for us. Not just this one, every game is crucial. Kickstart FC may not have had the best start, but they are a strong team, and I believe this match is vital for both sides.”

Regarding injury updates, Head Coach Crispin Chettri confirmed: “Grace is out for this match, which is unfortunate as this is an important game for us. However, there will always be such challenges, and I’m happy to say that the rest of the players are fit and ready to go.”

The media also inquired about the impressive performances from forwards Lynda and Jennifer, who have combined for 6 goals so far this season. With the addition of Pyari and Malati, who will join the squad after the National Games final, the coach was asked how he plans to utilize this attacking potential going forward.

Chettri responded: “Pyari and Malati will join us in March, so we still have some time before they can contribute. However, it’s great to have options, and I look forward to the challenge of fitting them into the starting eleven when they arrive.”

Arifa Zaheer was asked about the team's confidence after their recent win: “We played really well in the last match, and I’m grateful to my team. We went out there with a clear aim to secure the three points, and we’ll approach this game with the same mentality.”

When asked about Kickstart FC as an opponent, Arifa stated: “They will undoubtedly be a challenge, but our focus is on what we can control. We’ll do our best on the pitch, learn from any mistakes we made in our previous game, and aim to secure another three points.”
