Odisha FC partners with Pro Sport Development for Grassroots programming

Odisha FC is delighted to announce its partnership with Pro Sport Development (PSD) as our Grassroots Football Partner. PSD is an award-winning social enterprise recognized by the International Olympic Committee for its ’outstanding contribution’ towards the promotion of ‘Sport for All’, which uses sport as a holistic development tool for children and youth.

The club will deliver football-specific sessions as part of PSD’s ‘Community Sports Program’ by providing PSD's coaches with training and knowledge resources to improve their football-specific delivery. Odisha FC and PSD will jointly organize ‘Junior Juggernauts’ community-based football workshops, events/tournaments across Bhubaneswar, in a joint effort to increase participation and willingness to play football from a child’s early years.

The partnership kicked off on 25th March at St. Joseph’s School, Bhubaneswar, with OFC Youth Coach Sandeep Ahlan conducting a ‘Capacity Building Workshop in Grassroots Football’ for PSD Coaches. Coach Sandeep’s workshop, which lasted two hours, took the PSD Coaches through the basics of grassroots coaching and key focus areas of child development through football.

Speaking on the partnership, Director-Founder of PSD, Suheil Tandon, said, "PSD is delighted to collaborate with Odisha FC to jointly leverage the power of football in improving the lives of young people from marginalized communities across Bhubaneswar. This is a great opportunity for both partners to learn from each other and work together in communities to drive social impact through football collectively."

Odisha FC Head of Academy & Women’s Football, Randeep Baruah hopes this step will significantly amplify football participation among kids in their early years, and for home-grown coaches to pursue football education and teaching.

The club is excited to have PSD on board and we hope for a fruitful partnership between both organizations.
