OFC Women entrusts the future in the safe hands of India’s most promising young goalkeeper, as sought-after netminder pens a long-term contract with the Juggernauts.

Odisha FC Women has signed Indian National Women’s team goalkeeper, Shreya Hooda, to provide solidity to the spine of the squad.

Shreya, who hails from Sonipat in Haryana, started playing football when she was 13. She has represented India in the Under-14 and Under-16 categories as a goalkeeper, before making her Senior Women’s national team debut in 2021. Her biggest inspiration is her father.

More recently, Shreya was part of the team that won the IWL with Gokulam Kerala FC, with whom she also participated in the AFC Women’s Club Championship. She was the Winner of Khelo India Under-21 with Haryana. With the experience of three IWLs behind her and playing time with Kolhapur FC and Hans FC, Shreya will be donning the #1 jersey for the Juggernauts in the upcoming season.

Club President Raj Athwal, expressed his thoughts on Shreya's signing:

Shreya committing her future to Odisha FC Women is a big deal because she’s a highly coveted player, and was sought after by many clubs apart from us. For her to believe in our vision and ambition shows that we are doing things right. We are thrilled to have her with us and wish her the best for the coming season.

We would like to welcome Shreya to the club and wish her all the best for the season.
