Josep Gombau and Narender Gahlot attended the pre-match press conference and briefed the media ahead of our game tomorrow against Chennaiyin FC.

Here are some excerpts from the press conference:

After a good win against East Bengal FC at the Salt Lake stadium, how's the mood in the camp ahead of tomorrow's game?
"We are excited to play tomorrow here in front of our fans. It is an important game for us and as you can see it has been a tough week with the teams involved in the top 5 positions. I think tomorrow will be a very equal game and what I've asked the players to do is concentrate and avoid simple mistakes. If we win tomorrow it will be a very big step for us in the league."

Looking at the points table CFC needs to win tomorrow to climb up the table, any strategies you have devised to contain them tomorrow?
"Every single game that we have played till now, we have a distinct style. Based on the opposition we adjust the way we play, the way we defend and press. We have prepared well and we will go into the game with the same mentality that we have played the rest of our games with. CFC is a very good side and they have a good coach. We played a friendly game against them before the start of the season and it was a very difficult game for us. Tomorrow it is our turn to beat them."

Any injury concerns going into the game?
"It is a common problem as we have multiple games with small gaps in between them. Time and again we have shown we have depth in our squad. Last week for example we made 4 changes at half-time and it had a very big impact on the game. We will keep rotating players as and when the time comes to keep the squad fresh and ready for the games to come."

Chennaiyin FC is coming to Odisha after an impressive 3-1 win over Jamshedpur FC at home and has picked up momentum in the last few games. Your thoughts?
"I think it will be a very good game of football tomorrow night. They are a good side and have their own style of play. We know what we have to do against them. The players have been training well and are aware of the plan for the game. We will look to exploit the weaknesses they have and see what happens."

Narender

This is your first season with Odisha FC. Tell us how it has been so far playing under Josep Gombau and your plans for the future.

"I have learned a lot under his guidance right from the start of the pre-season, through the Durand Cup, and even now on the training pitch. I want to give my 100% to the team and the coach and I am really happy to play under an experienced coach like him."

How do you find the infrastructure here at the stadium and the love and support you get from the fans?
"My experience so far has been really good at the Kalinga Stadium. I have played an I-League season here with the Indian Arrows so it is always good to come back here. This season the fans have been really good and vocal towards the team in the 2 games we have played here. We are looking forward to playing in front of them tomorrow and getting the 3 points as well."
