Isaac Vanmalsawma signed for Shillong Lajong FC in 2014 after graduating from the AIFF Elite Academy. In the 2015-16 season, he made his debut for the senior team. He then stepped up to the Indian senior national side under Stephen Constantine and made his debut against Bhutan, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 win. He was picked up in the draft leading up to Hero ISL 2017-18 by FC Pune City and featured 12 times for the Stallions that campaign. In 2018-19, he signed for Chennaiyin FC and scored his maiden Hero ISL goal against ATK FC. With Jamshedpur FC in the 2019-20 season, Isaac played nine matches and scored once. He bagged an assist in 16 appearances in the 2020-21 season. He joined Odisha FC in July 2021 on a two-year deal.
