After playing in India for two seasons already, Javi Hernandez understands the League well now. He is committed to one thing this year and that is to finish as high as possible on the points table. The Spaniard has joined Odisha FC with a wealth of knowledge and experience and he has shared a few here in this conversation with the OFC Media Team. 
 

Love for football

Javi: I never had to make a decision, it came by itself. Since I was very young, I have always liked soccer and I fell in love with soccer almost when I was born.

Childhood role model

Javi: My role model has always been my cousin Guti. He has had a great career in soccer and I have spent a lot of time with him and he has always tried to teach me.

Biggest inspiration

Javi: My family. It is a humble family and they have always had to fight and work hard to get everything done. Those are the values that have been taught to me since I was a child.

Other Sports he follows

Javi: I follow almost all sports. But the one I like to practice the most is padel. It is a racket sport that is played a lot in Spain and in my free time, I usually play a lot.

Aim and aspirations

Javi: My aspiration in the nearest future is to do my best and help Odisha FC have a great season and finish as high as possible on the points table.

The biggest moment of his career so far

Javi: The greatest moment of my career is wearing the national team jersey.  Even if it is in the youth categories, it is always a pride to wear the shirt and represent your country.
