After beating table-toppers Mumbai City FC in a thrilling game last Monday, Odisha FC is leaving no stone unturned in preparing for the next game against neighbouring ATK Mohun Bagan on Saturday. The 10th game for the Juggernauts in the ongoing Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) is scheduled to be played at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.

Both the teams have played nine matches each so far in the eighth season. The Kalinga Warriors have 13 points with four wins while the Kolkata-based Club has 15 points with the same number of victories so far. ATKMB has been in a good form in the last few games. Out of the last three matches that the Mariners have played, they have won two and the last game against Hyderabad FC had ended in a 2-2 draw.

A few things have changed after OFC’s last game. Vinit Rai has moved on loan to Mumbai City FC and Jerry Mawihmingthanga has been appointed as a captain for the remainder of the season. Jerry was the top performer for the side in the last game scoring two goals and assisting in the one which was scored by Jonathas De Jesus.

After the win in the previous game, Assistant Coach Kino Garcia had expressed, “A lot. Of course, when we win, all the players, the staff on the bench enjoy it but we had to suffer in some moments as Mumbai City FC are a good team. They dominated in certain phases of the match but we reacted well and managed to get the result.”

“I think when the team wins or loses it's not just the coach but also the staff and the players that are responsible. I think football is a team sport and when we lose or win it's all about the team. Of course, the coach has a big responsibility but it's teamwork. The win today is not just for me and the defeat in the last match was not just for Kiko,” he had further added.

“Very disappointed, but my focus is on the injuries of the (Deepak) Tangri, the injury of Carl (McHugh), the injury of Amrinder (Singh), those are the most important things now, because sometimes it is more important to protect these players,”ATKMB gaffer Juan Ferrando had said after their last game.
