The boss speaks about Denechandra's arrival

Odisha FC announced the signing of Denechandra Meitei on a season-long loan from Kerala Blasters.


Denechandra Meitei started playing football at the age of 10 and went on to represent the Manipur football team at the youth nationals. His talent was spotted by the Mohun Bagan AC academy.
 

After a one-year stay there, he moved to the Sambalpur Academy in Odisha and then to the Pune FC academy where he was part of the team that won the U-19 I-League twice. Meitei eventually went on to make his senior debut with Pune FC. After that, stints with Churchill Brothers, NEROCA, and TRAU FC followed.
 

He made his Hero ISL debut in the 2020-21 season with Kerala Blasters and in all played six games.
 

A versatile option in the defense. Head Coach, Josep Gombau spoke to us about Denechandra's arrival,

"First of all, I would like to welcome Denechandra to the club. I am happy to have him in the squad. Meitei is someone who has a lot of experience which is very important to me. We needed reinforcement in the LB (Left-Back) position for the upcoming season and Meitei was a perfect fit. His signing adds more depth to our squad which makes his addition all the more important. I wish him the best and hope that he has a successful season with us."
